Why Fruits & Veggies May Not Be Supporting Your Health

4 Reasons Why Fruits and Veggies May Not Be Supporting Your Health.

If you’re like most people, you’ve been told to “eat your fruits and veggies” since you were a child. Mainstream media and most health and fitness publications, as well as countless university studies have long proclaimed that a diet rich in vegetables and fruits can increase your energy levels… boost your immune system… reduce your risk of illness… and recharge your body.

The 4 Big reasons why they may not be:

1. Today’s produce is significantly lower in essential nutrients than foods produced 50 years ago because modern farming practices have depleted our soils of minerals. Many organic agricultural scientists agree, depleted soils yield nutrient-poor produce. You now need approximately 10 servings of vegetables and fruits to obtain the nutritional equivalent of 1 serving from 50 years ago.

2.The long shipping and storage time between harvest and market degrades the nutrient content further. As a result, most vegetables and fruits sold in commercial establishments are even more nutritionally depleted.

3.The use of pesticides and other chemical additives in non-organic farming yield not only nutritionally deficient—but potentially poisonous produce—that may put you at even higher risk of long-term health problems.

4. An estimated 80% of food crops including corn to tomatoes and alfalfa to sugar beets are now genetically engineered and placed into much of the processed food we eat. These genetically modified (GMO) crops have had their genetic material altered using complex engineering techniques. Genetically engineered produce has been shown to cause serious health problems to those who consume them. And lack of food labeling regulation makes them even harder to identify in our food supply.

The first-ever long-term study of the health effects of GMO foods (conducted at the University of Caen in France) shows that a lifelong diet of genetically modified foods may be associated with tumors, organ damage and premature death in lab mice. Many more studies are available for your researching. Education is Empowerment!

GROW YOUR OWN…KNOW WHAT IS IN YOUR SOIL AND WHERE YOUR SEEDS COME FROM! Do not use any chemicals but opt for ways to enrich your soil with organic compost along with fabric and nettings to protect your food growing efforts.

For the Health of it!
